HEALTH - 461020 (0.5 Credit) - This course must be successfully completed as a one-half credit Maryland State Department of Education graduation requirement. This course is required for all ninth grade students. The Health Education curriculum is written in compliance with Maryland Public School law and the Maryland Health Education curricular framework. It includes units in drug education, mental health, nutrition and fitness, and consumer education. In addition, units in family life and human sexuality, as well as HIV/AIDS education, will be taught. These units will require parental permission. Alternate units are provided for students who do not have parental permission.
